What Type of Dentistry Can Be Done With a Laser?
Friday, May 2nd, 2008You might actually be suprised to here there are quite a few dental procedures that can be done with the dental laser. Let’s get to them:
- Benign Tumors: Benign tumors and be removed from your gums, palate, sides of cheeks and lips with a dental laser without any pain and suture-free. Happy day!
- Cavity Detector: Because tooth decay produces by-products, dental lasers can be used to detect cavities in their early stage.
- Cold Sores: Dental lasers can be used for treatment on cold sores and reduce pain and minimize healing time.
- Crown Lengthening: Crown lengthening is used to expose healthier tooth structure by reshaping the gum tissue which provides a stronger foundation for a restoration.
- Dental Fillings: Traditionally drills are used when a filling is performed. With dental lasers, the same filling can be performed without anesthetic injections and the bacteria located in the cavity will be killed off which could lead better tooth restorations in the future.
- Muscle Attachment (Frenula): If you or your children are tongue tied, a laser frenectomy is an ideal treatment options.
