Normally bonding is done in one dental visit and is a painless and non-invasive procedure.  Dental bonding can also be used as a solution for chips, crookedness or even misshaped teeth.  One of the upsides to dental bonding is it’s also relatively inexpensive.

There are a couple of bonding types that are used;
1.  Bonding one surface to another:  Attaching a composite filling to a natural toothor even securing crowns.
2.  Direct Bonding: This options is growing in popularity and is used to repair cracked, decayed or chipped teeth.  Bonding material is usually painted on the natural tooth to fill and cover the flawed area.

There are also a variety of bonding options that your dentist has to choose from:
1.  Direct Bonding for low end flaws:  This option is commonly used for repairing minimal damaged teeth, especially your front teeth.  This process isn’t just for adults, it is sometimes the perfect restorative option for children as well.
2.  Bonding for Severe Damage:  Veneers or Lumineers my be the recommendation your dentist gives you for significant imperfections.  Smile Makeovers usually consist of veneers or Lumineers as the choice of dental treatment.
3.  Bonding for Major Imperfections:  In some cases a defect cannot be repaired thoroughly with a veneer or lumineers.  If this is the case, your dentist will may recommend a dental crown.  Crowns can be attached to the tooth structure through the bonding process.
